All around London, theatres are preparing themselves for that annual Christmas tradition of dressing up minor celebrities in silly costumes and getting them to make fools of themselves on stage, but not so at Battersea Arts Centre. Instead, Blind Summit Theatre will be doing something completely different at the venue and putting on George Orwell's 1984, which isn't exactly full of boo hisses and he's behind you laughs but will appeal to adults wanting to see some real theatre over the festive period.

Thistledown Puppets provided lots of laughter and an entertaining performance to the classes at L'il Scholars Preschool on Thursday morning, November 19. Philip Hatter is both the creator and puppeteer of Thistledown puppets. The preschool is located in Fincastle Baptist Church and Jennifer Aylor is the director.

Meet Morgan Fitzpatrick Andrews: artist, activist, yogi and puppeteer—to name just a few of the hats he wears. On a rainy Friday afternoon he must leave the puppets he's been repairing in the basement of the Arden Theater in Old City to hurry back to West Philadelphia, where he's teaching a yoga class at Studio 34 on Baltimore Avenue. Though many people might recognize Andrews as the co-founder of Puppet Uprising , a company that brings puppeteers from around the world to Philadelphia, he's been busy do  

Utah State Theatre's production involves large scale puppets, designed by associate professor Dennis Hassan. Hassan spent part of his sabbatical year studying traditional Eastern European marionette design and construction. Following his return, Hassan organized a theatre crafts course specializing in puppetry.
